Fight Prediction UFC 270: why every MMA fan should watch Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane’s heavyweight championship fight?

On Sun, Jan 23, 9:00 AM, UFC 270 is holding the biggest heavyweight champion MMA fight. This is very interesting for combat sports fans around the world. On one side, we simply have the strongest fighter in the world right now with the most powerful punch recorded in the history of MMA and that is Francis the Preditor Ngannou. His punching power is otherworldly and unmatched. Nowhere in the history of MMA or boxing have we ever seen such a powerful monster with such heavy hands. He grew up in a poor family in rural Cameron and earlier in life worked in the sandpit. I believe he generated his power working in that extreme working condition which cannot be gained through any kind of traditional strength condition training. His story suppresses any fictional drama. It is inspiring how he was able to struggle his way from the bottom of society to the most respected position in combat sports right now and became the heavyweight champion.

On the other hand, we have Ciryl Gane. An undefeated challenger who has never been defeated in his whole career. We rarely see such a record in the sports of MMA. On top of that, he is from the heavyweight division. The reason he is unique because of the fluidity and technicality he possesses despite being a heavyweight. The Heavyweights are not often recognized for their fluidity and speed. The way Ciryl moves it seems like he is not in the heavyweight division. One of the unique traits of him, he seems unfazed by the fight. He is very relaxed and his movement never changes. His stoic state in the fight is the most powerful weapon he possesses. Besides that, he is one of the most technical fighters present in the U. His Muay Thai skill is top class. He has excellent distance management capability. His technical movement makes it very hard to attack. On top of that, he has 100 % takedown defense.

The fight is going to be a 5 round championship match. On Rd 1, we will definitely see Francis throwing haymaker and trying to knock Ciryl out. This is 100% guaranteed. If Ciryl can avoid the haymaker and keep his distance as always without being unfazed, he might have a survival chance. We might see Ciryl try to get Francis down to gas him out. Francis gassed out in one of his fights against Stipe Miocic, which he lost, however, we have seen tremendous improvement in his takedown defense since then and he won the rematch. We also have to consider his sheer strength which makes it super difficult to take him down. I believe that if Francis can’t knock Ciryl out he will win first-round indefinitely. Rd 2 (if Ciryl is not knocked out already), we will see a similar approach as the first. From Rd 3, If the fight is still not over, we will see Ciryl taking the fight. Francis’ knockout power will go down. We saw that in his fight with Stipe the power in his punch was not the same as before from Rd3. If Ciryl can survive 1 and 2, his technical kickboxing skills are superior to Francis’s. He will be able to dominate him from this round. Francis was also never knocked out, therefore, I highly doubt Ciryl can do that and that being said, after rounds 3 4, and five will go to Ciryl. We have to remember that Ciryl was never knocked out either, so minimized power at Rd3, 4,5, I don’t think Francis would be able to knock Ciryl out.

With saying that, last time Francis was against an undefeated prospect, he dismantled him in Rd1 spectacular fashion and I believe that will happen again and Francis will win with the Rd1 knockout. I do not see any human standing after eating a punch from Francis. This is why the fight is so unpredictable and the sheer possibility of many things in this fight makes it so interesting.
